Spring Flowers

Here is a list of spring flowers and their short descriptions:

Baby’s Breath/Gyp - Dainty pink or white flowers that are dried for arranging, with a small amount of foliage and open branched stems.
Bellflower -  Long, linear leaves with bell-shaped, generally purple flowers.
Calla Lily - Arrowhoead-shaped leaves in with funnel-shaped flower heads in reds, whites, yellows, and pinks.
Daffodil - A bulbous plant having solitary, yellow, nodding flowers that bloom in the spring.
Daisy - Several long, oval-shaped petals with smooth or textured leaves.  Usually white with yellow centers, though the daisy is hydrid into a wide variety of colors.
Freesia - Little to no foliage and 5-10 trumpet-shaped flowers with sword-shaped leaves.  Comes in white, yellow, orange, red, pink, mauve, lavender, purple, and some bi-colored.


Hyancinth - Dense spike of small, trumpet-shaped flowers, and long, sword-shaped leaves.  Comes in red, yellow, blue, white, orange, pink, and violet.
Iris - Made up of 6 lobe-shaped flowers; 3 pointing downward and 3 upright.  Comes in vibrant purple, blue, white, or lavender.
Jasmine - 4 lobed-shaped petals and dark green, simple leaves.  Generally white in color.
Lilac - Shrub; heart-shaped leaves with flowers that grow in large, loose clusters.  Comes in white, pale pink, and purple.
Lily of the Valley - Long, thin stems with white (sometimes pink), bell-shaped, tiny flowers and 1-2 large, oval-shaped leaves.
Snapdragon - Spiral of “snapable” flowers on top of a slender stalk.  Available in almost every color except blue.
Stephanotis - Trumpet-shaped white blossoms with tough vine stems and dark, leathery leaves.
Sweet Pea - Climbing plant with alternating leaves, a round twining tendril, and folded, butterfly-like petals.  Comes in a variety of bright colors.
Tulip - 6 intertwining petals and waxy, strap-shaped leaves.  Comes in a wide variety of colors.
