Anthurium – Anthurium are decorative heart-shaped leaves and an oval, waxy “tail” that rises out of it. They are available in white, pink, red, coral, green, lilac, and some color combinations.

Bird of Paradise – Birds of paradise are made up of leathery leaves that form a crane-shape and are held upright by stiff stalks with petals that grow out of the top of the leaves. The petals are a combination of blue and orange in color.

Bromelia – The pineapple plant. Bromelias are vase-shaped leaf rosettes with spiky petals and come in shades of pink, white, orange, and red.

Ginger – Ginger is made up of broad, decorative leaves with bulb-shaped blooms and waxy stems and are most commonly found in shades of red.

Gloriosa Lily – Gloriosa is made up of long, reflexed petals with spiral shaped leaves and is red and orange in color.

Hibiscus – The hibiscus are large, trumpet-shaped flowers that have 5 or more petals, and alternating oval to spear-shaped leaves. Hibiscus come in white, pink, red, purple, and yellow.

Heliconia - Heliconias are made up drooping clusters of waxy bracts that sprout the actual flowers and oblong, opposing leaves. The heliconia is most commonly found in reds and oranges.

Orchids – Most common:
Cattleya – Thick, band-shaped leaves with large petals and flat, open sepals. One petal curves into a cuplike egde at the bottom of the flower. They come in white, pink, purple, and yellow.
Cymbidium – Cymbidiums have irregular, waxy, translucent petals with a contrasting colored center and leathery, band-shaped leaves. Available in white, pink, and light green.
Dendrobium – These orchids have several sprays of dainty flowers on a slender stem (resemble daffodil in shape). Dendrobiums come in white, magenta, purple, pink, green, red, and striped.
Lady Slipper – The lady slipper orchid is made up of a “slipper”-shaped pouch with long, then petals and large, spear-shaped leaves. It is available in shades of white, red, yellow, pink, green, and nearly black.
Phalaenopsis – This orchid’s blooms have 5 petals and resemble a “moth in flight.” They also have 1 or 2 thick, fleshy, oval-shaped leaves. Phalaenopsis come in white, pink, lavender, and yellow.
Vanda – Vandas have flat-faced petals and sepals of equal size with strap or cylinder-shaped leaves. The vanda orchid is available in white, green, red, orange, burgundy, and yellow/brown.

Protea – Proteas have oval and heart-shaped leaves with hairy florets surrounded by widely spaced, pointed leaves and are usually pink to red in color.
