How To Make an Easy and Beautiful Orchid Arrangement

How to make a quick, easy, and beautiful orchid flower arrangement.

Oncidium Orchid Arrangement

Items you will need:

3 Yellow Oncidium Orchid Sprays
Bundle of Green Twig Branches
Clear Tapered Square Vase
Assorted Rocks/Stones

If need be, trim the orchids and twigs so that they stand approximately 2 feet above the top of the vase.  Place the oncidium orchids in container and fill in and around with the twigs (keeping them a little more to the back).  Fill container about half way with rocks while holding your stems mostly in place.  Once you have your container have filled with rocks, adjust the flowers and twigs to your liking.  Fill the container the rest of the way to secure.

Add your done!  Now sit back and enjoy your beautiful flower arrangement.

Floral Decor (cont).

In a previous entry I talked about adding floral decor to your home. If using accents such as wallpaper, or bed sets is not your thing, perhaps a stylish vase with flowers is. Here are some photo ideas of different vase sizes and colors so you can see how creative and stunning a floral arrangement can be. It might just be the touch you need to finish off your room!

Decorating & Flowers for Summer

Summertime is almost upon us, and it’s time to put away the soft, pale-colored flowers and bring on some bold! Here is a list of the most popular summer flower colors and two of my favorite summertime themes to help you make your home summer savvy.

Adding Summer Through Color
What’s in this summer are bright, bold, and vibrant colors. Think corals, turquoises, hot pinks, oranges, sunshine yellows, bright greens, and cherry reds. Check out the two themes below to incorporate these colors into your decor.

Giving Your Home a Tropical Feel
Exotic and tropical flowers such as heliconia, bird of paradise, ginger, gloriosa, anthurium, and orchids give your home that warm, summery feel. Use intense shades of red, pink, orange, and yellow to complete the tropical feel. Tropical greenery is also a great way to add decor. Choose items like palm trees, jungle plants, and bamboo. If you want to add an even more tropical feel to your home, add accents such as jungle animal art prints/photos, table waterfalls, frozen drink knick knacks, even hawaiian inspired decor.

The Ocean in Your Home
Bringing the feel of the beach into your home is a great way to decorate for summertime. Use vibrant blues, greens, and aqua, with subtle hints of white. Some great flowers to use in these colors are bells of ireland, gerbera daisies, hydrangea, calla lilies, delphinium, and anemones. Use accent pieces in your home or arrangements such as shells, fish/dolphin decor, photos of the ocean, beach balls, and lighthouses to name a few.
